Seneca Rocks: 29-30 July 2000
Various Gumby Routes
Sitting down and getting swarmed. The northwest side of Seneca Rocks is visible behind. Gunsight Notch is the prominent space between the north and south sides of the rock (for better shots see the links at the end of this trip report). In 1987 a huge formation standing in the center of the notch called the Gendarme fell down the west face of the mountain. Tony Barnes, senior guide at SRCS and author of Seneca, the Climber's Guide, was the last to summit the feature.
